Special moments captured forever!

Nana is always able to capture the essence of the moment with her photographs! I think she should get paid to do this! Same photos opportunity that you have seen before....our time together over the holidays - but these photos were special to me because of the moment that they captured! I had to share!

I Bet Picasso Never Did this?!

It has been said that third children raise themselves! Well...today...our Will proved that this just may be true! Will told me today, as I went to change his very FULL diaper...NO DIAPER MOMMY....My Will PEE IN THE POTTY!

Of course I tried to convince him that a diaper would be OK and that he was 2 and there was no need to pee in the potty just yet. But, as anyone who knows Will can attest...he does it HIS WAY OR NO WAY! So after fighting me for 20 min on the diaper issue...I just said fine...tell mommy when you have to go potty OK? And he said "OK MOMMY!" And in about 2 min...he said..."OH NO...PEE IS COMIN' MOMMY!"

So I ran to the closet by the downstairs bathroom...just hoping to find the little potty seat that we used for BEN about 3 years ago! And sure enough....it was there. (side note 1...see...it is a good thing I never organize...or I may have put it where it belonged and then I would have never found it in a crisis!! )(Side note 2...yeah...I didn't forget about Kyle..his bum bum was too big for this "little" seat so he went right to the real deal!)

So, Will looked at the little blue and white seat and said "Dats my Wills potty mommy?" and I said...yep...sit down and go. And sure enough that little monster sat down and peed. And...as he finished...he promptly put the little blue lid down...announced that "Pee came out"....and he picked up the potty and handed it to me! (Yeah...a little spilled out so we had to talk about not picking it up while full!!)

Now that he knew what to do...he was hell bent on doing it every time...so each time he moved from room to room...he would carry the potty with him and sit on it. He sat on it to watch TV and then when he decided to paint at his easel...he decided to sit on it then. Can't be too careful in your first day right?!?!

So thank you Erica for running over with your camera to capture this "first time" event. (Steve had ours in North Carolina) and in the word of Erica "Picasso never did this!!"

Too funny! Will...I am sooooooooooooooo showing this photo to the very first girl you bring home! Thanks for making our day little guy!

Oh what beautiful Chidren I have!

Seriously....how lucky am I...8 hours in the car with my four favorite people...I look back into the "finally" silent minivan...and this is what I saw! Thank Goodness I had a camera! Truly gross....two kids drooling all over and other and the third with his finger so far up his nose that he may be touching his eyeball....and yet I had never felt so in love! Oh how weird it is to be a parent! ha ha ha...and I will be looking forward to sharing this photo with three very nice girlfriends one day! ha ha ha

Sue...I knew this would make you laugh the hardest! ha ha ha

All expectations met....oh the magic of Christmas!

This holiday season we were able to be home for Christmas Day, have Nana and Pop Pop to our home, spend a day in Williamsburg, Visit with our life long friends in Washington DC, Travel to PA to see my family and just have one heck of a crazy fun time! One funny story and then I will just share photos that sum up the wonderment of our Holidays this year!

The one thing that Ben and Kyle wanted for Christmas that I had NO CONTROL over...was snow! I talked to mom and dad and they said that DuBois had 5 inches on the ground...so I was confident that when we made our trip to PA after Christmas...that this wish would be granted. We bought boots...gloves...EVERYTHING we needed to make snow play fun and comfortable!

All along out 9 hour drive the kids kept saying...I don't see snow yet mom? And I would say...just wait till we get to Grandma and pop Pop's! Now...in DuBois, PA...there is ALWAYS snow! It is the highest point east of the Mississippi along the mountain range. I mean...it ALWAYS snows!

What my parents failed to let me know was that the very day we were traveling...the temps in DuBois, PA reached a record high for December - 43 degrees!

Yeah...as you can imagine....the snow was gone by the time we got there. So sad. All that was left of snow was this pile of dirt/leaves/dirt/ice...that lay beside the kitchen door. It was the remnants of snow shoveling to allow everyone to get to the outside world without killing themselves! It had an old metal snow shovel shoved in the middle and it was about a foot high and maybe 1 food wide!

So when we arrive in DuBois I try to not mention the "lack of" snow...just hoping that the kids will be so excited to see our family that they will forget their dreams and avoid utter despair.

As we walk inside the house Kyle looks at the pile and then looks at me and says - with a look of sadness - Mom...is this what we sled ride on and make snow balls with? Oh how sad!!

I explained that the snow had melted and they all three looked at me like "THEN WHY ARE WE HERE? WHY DID WE JUST DRIVE ALL THAT WAY...LET'S GO HOME!"

Well...no forecast for snow the entire time we would be in PA...but as luck would have it...on the day before New Years Eve...it started! And it snowed all night long...3 inches that covered the trees the ground and the cars. When they woke up that morning the looks on their faces were priceless! By 8am we were on our sleds and throwing snow balls! Every Christmas wish now granted! The world was a prefect place! Someone must have knows how important this was to my little men! And I am forever grateful!
